The Rule of Thirds in Photography

Want to learn more about photography and how to take great pictures? If so, head on over to Chasing Picture Perfection where you can read about different techniques and rules that will help take your pictures from everyday snapshots to true photographs. This month's lesson was on the Rule of Thirds and how much more interesting objects or people can look by just changing their placement in the picture. In your mind, you cut the photo view into thirds both horizontally and vertically.

You then try to place your items at the intersection of those lines.  Chasing Picture Perfection has a whole lesson on this here. Here is my assignment photo. Notice that the picture is more interesting with the flower in the bottom corner than if it was just centered?

Photography is on my ever-growing list of things I want to learn more about/learn how to do.

If I make it to retirement, I'm going to be a very busy lady.
