Clothespins aren't just for clothes anymore! Household tip

I use clothespins for everything in my house. Yes, I do use them to hang clothing that can't go in the dryer but, the place that I use them the most is in the kitchen. Yes, you heard me right, in the kitchen.  I use clothespins to close up bags of chips or cookies in the pantry,
to close non- zip plastic bags, to seal up brown sugar and powdered sugar bags, chocolate chip bags and my favorite use,  to close the bread bag. I hate those little tabs, they rip the bags, always get lost and frankly they just don't seal that well. I take off the tab and if it has the expiration date on it I drop the tab into the bag and then I use a clothespin to seal and reseal the bread bag. They hold firmly, seal well and are really easy to take on and off.
Since we have a stainless fridge, I can't use magnets to leave notes for my kids, instead, much to their annoyance, I use a clothespin to hang notes from one of the down lights in my kitchen. They can't miss it!
I also use clothespins in my closet. When I run out of skirt hangers, I use 2 clothespins to clip a skirt onto a regular hanger.

Take a look on Etsy and you'll see some really cute painted and decorated clothespins that would be so fun and stylish to use.

I use them to make a clothing protector (My kids would die if I said bib.) if I need to keep the boys clean and they are eating something really messy. Put a large dish towel around their neck and use the clothes pin to hold the ends together. (I do the same thing with a large towel when I'm coloring my hair.)

Does it count if I use them to keep my kids mouths closed??

OMG! Thanks so much! We throw away more stale chips than I care to discuss. Someone either leaves the bag open, or it comes undone after they fold it close.

I am buying some today! I'm buying pretty colors. My kids like colors and pretty. My husband will like that we don't have to throw food away!

Ooh ooh pick me!

I use them for rocketry! They are the most useful things. They can hold electrical wires out of the way, work as a temporary clamp for gluing balsa, hold up a rocket on the launch pad, and more. Unfortunately, they get burnt after a while. Someone needs to invent steel clothespins...

We use clothespins in our house too. I have a basket full of them hanging on the wall in our pantry. We use them on chip bags, cereal bags, bags of fruits and veggies in the freezer, for bread and anything else that comes up that needs to be held tight. We even have some in our camping trailer. They work so much better than twist ties or bread ties and I love that they are re-usable. Couldn't do without them!

Not trying to copy klsp above. But I use them to hold the towel around my boys necks when I cut their hair. I also use them to hold things together that I have glued 'til it dries.

I use to weight down the collars of my husbands polo shirts as they line dry so I don't have to iron them.
