My goodness... shudder... you must have been freezing when you took this shot. It is very beautiful. We rarely get weather like that here in Berkeley, although last year we did have a dusting of snow, and it made everything just glow. I am so pleased you joined us this week, yours is the first winter tree submitted!
Not only do I love the ice in the trees, I really love the fact that you have included the warm tones of the ground which help to give the entire photograph a great balance.
The evergreen tree in the backgound seems to protect the deciduous tree that is sleeping from the cold winds, as the earth also holds warmth for a dormant life portrayed by the colours in the forground. This is a wonderful photograph that will stay in my mind for a long time.
