Monday's Household Assigments- Knitting Needle Rescue!!

This week's assignment is for the crafters out there- If you don't knit or crochet, then you have the week off!!!!
If you do knit or crochet you probably have a number of projects going at the same time. This weekend I took the time to do a needle rescue. I went to grab a set of size 7 needles and they weren't where they belong. I went through my knitting bags and realized that half my needles were in projects that were half done and might never get done. Let's be real, I'm ADD and have the attention span of a newt.  I got some bright red yarn out of my stash and with a needle threaded it through the stitches of each project and took them off of the needles. Tada- all my needles have been rescued!!!!

The other thing that I did was to figure out a different way to store my needles. My straight needles have always been kept in a rolled up holder and my circulars, I've kept in a CD case. It was hard to find the needles that I needed easily. I came up with a new solution. An over the door, clear pocket, shoe holder.
It works perfectly. I have a different pocket for each size needle and I can see them all and find the ones I need at a glance. I also have pockets for all of my crochet needles and other assorted accessories. The holder is hung over the door of my craft cupboard, where I store all of my crafting supplies. It's cute and keeps everything organized. Have fun finding all of your own needles.

I love using items in different ways than they were intended!  I also use clear pocket shoe holders to store all of my leggings, tights and stocking and bras. I can see exactly what color they are and which pair  or bra I want without having to dig through a drawer. I took the door hooks off and attached it to a hanger with safety pins. Works great!!!! Have a wonderful week.

That is a great way to reappropriate the shoe holder. Is it on the back of a door? If not, you might want to do that. If a clumsy person like myself came to your house, I know I would run right into it - that would be a mess!
