A Thankful Thanksgiving!

I am so thankful for the blessings that God has given us this past year. I am thankful for our health, our family, for each of our children. I am thankful for my oldest daughter's fiance and what a great man he is. I am thankful for our many friends. I am thankful for each of you who keep coming back to read this blog and Buttercream Lane. I now count many of you as a friend through this internet medium. I am thankful for the food and shelter that God has blessed us with and most of all, I am thankful for Jesus Christ who rescued each of us from our sin.

28 years ago today......

My husband and I have been married for 28 amazing years today.
We've been through better and worse, richer and poorer, sickness and health,
and it get's better and better. It has gone so fast and seems like only yesterday that we were standing at the alter saying our vows to each other and to God.
I love him even more today then I did the day I married him!
I am very thankful that God blessed me with this wonderful man.

Our wedding day, Aug. 15, 1981

I met him when I was 19 year old and he was 21. We were engaged 7 months later and married 2 1/2 months after that. Fast, but we knew we were meant to be together. From the moment I met him, I know that there was something very special about him and I was right.

Here are just a few of the reasons that I love him still!

He loves the Lord and follows Him every day!
He is always patient with me- not an easy task sometimes.
He is the head of our household and a wonderful example to our kids of a godly man.
He never loses his temper- irritating sometimes when my Irish temper is looking for a fight!!!
He is kind.
He is gentle.
He is a wonderful provider, working many long hours to support our family.

He is a very hard worker.
He is so much fun to spend time with.
He can wire anything I need, including adding outlets and doorbells when I've needed them!
He is one of the smartest people that I have ever met.

He is a wonderful father to our kids, always there to give advice or lend a hand.
He's a great listener. Good thing because he married a big talker!
He loves neoprene cases, in every color, size and shape.
He likes football.
He puts up with my many projects scattered about.
He is so organized and keeps our household running smoothly.
His left brain is the perfect balance to my right brain.
He tracks all of our numbers down to the last penny. Thankfully!! I'd only track it to within a thousand dollars.
He loves cats, dogs and whatever animals I happen to drag home.
He knows the answer to almost any question.
He love South Park and Mystery Science Theater.
He has a great sense of humor and can make us all laugh.

He is generous to others and always helps out those in need.
He puts everyone else first.
He always does the right thing.

He still gives me butterflies in my stomach when I kiss him.

I love him so much and pray that we get at least another 28 years together!
Happy Anniversary, sweetheart!
